Armed Robbery

The Armed Robbery Unit conducts investigations and identifies suspects who have committed armed robberies, robberies, carjacking and strong-armed robberies. They establish and maintain a detailed informational/case tracking database to include, but not limited to methods of operations (M.O.’s), offender/suspect information, vehicle information, and other pertinent information to aid in identifying suspects currently and in the future.

Homicide

The Homicide Unit assumes the responsibility of cases involving homicides, unexplained deaths, and questionable suicides or batteries that could result in death. The unit is noted for maintaining one of the highest homicide solve rates in the nation.

Sex Crimes

The Sex Crimes Unit investigates all cases of Criminal Sexual Penetration where the victim is 13 years of age or older unless the suspect is a parent, guardian or current or former household member and assist with other sex crime cases when directed to do so by the Chief of Police.

 

Crimes Against Children

The Crimes Against Children Unit responds to child abuse and/or neglect incidents involving children. Allegations of child abuse and/or neglect will be thoroughly investigated. They work closely with CYFD.
